Alex Farley

Director - CAPE Fund and Chair of the Board, Canadian Prairie Garden Puree Products Inc.

Alex joined CAPE Fund in June 2006, initially as a consultant to help with fundraising, structuring and initial review of potential investments and as Director since the official inception of the Fund in November 2008. In this capacity, Alex is responsible for the review of potential investments, the structuring of the transactions and the monitoring of CAPE Fund's portfolio companies. Prior to joining CAPE Fund, Alex worked at Merrill Lynch Canada and BMO Nesbitt Burns in investment banking where he was involved in numerous public equity and debt financings as well as several mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Harvey I. Pollock, Q.C.

The senior member of Pollock & Company, Winnipeg, Manitoba

Through 50 years of experience, Harvey has developed a strong litigation background, primarily in the areas of personal injury, negligence and criminal actions. His preferred areas of practice are medical and other professional malpractice and general litigation. He has appeared in all levels of the courts, including the Federal Court of Canada and the Supreme Court of Canada. In 1970, Harvey was appointed Queen’s Counsel.


Martin Pollock, LLB

Member of Pollock & Company, Winnipeg, Manitoba

Martin has developed a strong litigation background, and practices primarily in the areas of Medical Malpractice and Hospital Negligence. He has a special interest in Obstetric Malpractice. He also practices litigation in the fields of Wrongful Dismissal, Unjust Dismissal under The Canada Labour Code, Contract and Administrative Law. Martin has appeared in the Manitoba Court of Appeal, all Trial Courts of Manitoba, all levels of The Federal Court and before Administrative Tribunals.

Kelly is a professional Agronomist with 20 + years of experience in Agri-business. An entrepreneur with several patents and a passion for inventing new technologies and processes, Kelly is the majority share owner of Canadian Prairie Garden Puree Products Inc.

Dr. Martin Scanlon is Acting Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Agricultural & Food Sciences and a member of the Department of Food Science at the University of Manitoba. He has 30+ years of experience in food processing research, focused on how ingredients and processes interact to affect food product quality and nutrient availability, most of it conducted on cereals, grain legumes and vegetables. With this background and his passion for the proven benefits of our technology on the quality and nutrient profile of CPG products, Martin contributes invaluable expertise in the science of food manufacturing and R&D.

Garry Stillie, Consultant to Food Manufacturers , has extensive career experience in leadership of food manufacturing operations and strategic manufacturing from Campbell Company of Canada, Sara Lee and Wm Neilson Ltd. His expertise in critical areas of innovative food processing equipment, production flow and logistics has greatly enabled CPGPP in bringing superior products to the marketplace.

Dan Debreuil owns Sales Expert, a consultancy providing strategic planning expertise to businesses connected to the food industry. He has greatly enabled CPGPP with his experience in business planning and branding. [ www.salesexpert.ca ]

Doug Dyson’s career experience in leading sales organizations within Tier 1 food companies has included senior North American and International roles. He has been a valuable resource in building the network of representatives for CPGPP across North America and providing insights on establishing distribution in Europe and Asia.

John Placko, Principal, John Placko Consulting. John is a chef, food strategist and culinary leader who fuses 35 years of experience in restaurants, corporate culinary leadership and grass-roots development to deliver market leading, differentiated culinary concepts.
